The first band I ever sang in was called Gyllenhaal - I wrote a few songs, arranged to jam with a couple pals and then record them. We played a couple shows with a revolving line-up (Jack and Joel from Pen Name were involved in this at various points) and then called it a day. This was one of the songs, meant to be on the EP, but I don't think it got finished, and then got lost forever. I've lovingly re-worked and re-recorded the track as an homage to the good times. Let's hope they return.
lyrics
Pore over the pages - the ink stains with absent meaning. Clarity is underrated and indulgence is conceited. Poetry is nothing more than prose that's written wrong and every metaphor sounds cooler when it's written in song. I know it sounds convincing and aids your reminiscing. Burn through the pages. The ink blurs with no further purpose. Tear through the pages, the ink stains with absent meaning. Clarity is underrated.
